    Contacting the SAT Program about Problems on Test Day

    If you encounter problems on test day, you need to communicate them to the SAT Program by the Wednesday after the test administration. This is necessary in order to ensure that your concern is investigated before your scores are released. Use the chart below to identify the best way of contacting us.

    Canceling Scores
    Cancellation includes scores on all tests you take on one day, unless your equipment malfunctions. Once we receive your request, your scores cannot be reinstated. Cancellations must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the Wednesday following the test.

    Test Center Complaints
    If you have a complaint about the test center or testing conditions, send us a letter explaining your complaint. Your scores could be delayed while your complaint is investigated.

    Report Suspected Cheating
    Cheating is not okay. It is unfair to students who have put in the hard work and play by the rules. If you see it or hear about it, report it. You can confidentially report suspected cheating on the SAT by contacting the Office of Testing Integrity at (609) 406-5430 or 1-800 353-8570.

    Test Error or Ambiguity
    If you encounter a test error or ambiguous question, continue testing. Report the problem to the supervisor before you leave the test center, then write to us, including the test section, the test question (as well as you can remember it), and an explanation of your concern. The SAT Program will respond to written inquiries.
